El Engagement y la Interacción Familia-Trabajo: Un Estudio Exploratorio

Resumen

Varios estudios se han realizado sobre la importancia de que las personas mantengan un balance adecuado entre la vida personal y la vida en el trabajo. Esta temática ha cobrado mayor importancia en momentos de crisis. Sin embargo, pocos estudios se han realizado sobre los beneficios de mantener el balance entre la interacción trabajo-familia e indicadores de bienestar en el trabajo tales como el engagement. El objetivo de este estudio es explorar la relación entre la interacción positiva trabajo-familia y el engagement en el trabajo. Contamos con una muestra seleccionada por disponibilidad de 98 empleados(as) en Puerto Rico. Los análisis de ecuaciones estructurales con Partial Least Squares apoyan a nuestra hipótesis. Cuando las personas perciben que hay una interacción positiva entre los aspectos del trabajo y de la familia, tienden a sentirse más engaged con su trabajo. El artículo concluye con una discusión de las implicaciones prácticas y teóricas del estudio.
